Hirakud

A record of the Hirakud Dam project, built chiefly for flood control, tracing the effort from its earliest planning through construction in a then economically depressed stretch of Odisha. Directed by M.V. Krishnaswamy, it's a compact account of one of independent India's early large infrastructure undertakings.

Why it's free: Free on Films Division's own channel; the Government of India's documentary unit produced it.
