Skip Day - high school friendship and everyday racism in Florida

2018 · 17 min · English

★ Illy Prize, Cannes Directors' Fortnight

On the one free day between prom and graduation, a group of Florida high schoolers drive sixty miles to the beach to be teenagers together for a few more hours. Racism intrudes on the afternoon anyway, folded into an otherwise ordinary day of friends, sand and uncertainty about what comes next.
