Tulsa race massacre: an act of terrorism America tried to forget – 360 video

Using archival photographs, artist Bayete Ross Smith rebuilds the 1919 Tulsa massacre as an immersive 360-degree scene rather than a static history lesson. It is the first film in his Red Summers series on racial terrorism the country worked hard to leave out of its own textbooks.
