독립전야(1948) / The Night before Independence Day (Doglibjeon-ya)

Days after liberation, a young woman staking out the pawnbroker who killed her father years earlier ends up protecting his estranged daughter from him instead, pulling two sets of siblings into one tangled reckoning. The dying pawnbroker's deathbed confession closes out newly liberated Korea's messy inheritance of guilt just as a new government is being formed.
