꿈(1955) / Dream (Kkum) (1955)

A young monk falls for a nobleman's daughter, watches her married off to a warrior, then lives through an entire elopement, hiding and hunting-down before waking mid-cry to find none of it happened. Adapted from a Silla-era Buddhist parable about the emptiness of worldly desire, the twist is less a gimmick than the whole point.
