Dramatizing an actual defense of a contested outpost during the Korean War, this film follows a sergeant and a two-squad unit ordered to hold a hilltop position they do not have the numbers to hold. A radio operator's letter from home and a last-ditch call for artillery support turn the tide, after most of the men around him are already gone.
