골목안 풍경(1962) / What Happens in an Alley ( Golmogan Punggyeong )

A tax clerk feeding nine children on a civil servant's salary turns down every bribe a crooked teahouse owner offers, while his brother-in-law carries on with a hostess, his novelist brother storms out broke, and his mother's hospital bill pushes him into the one loan that can be used against him. Everything in the alley lands on him at once, and the film keeps cutting between a dozen households whose troubles are all each other's business.
