강화도령(1963) / A Reluctant Prince ( Ganghwadoryeong )

A shaggy-haired commoner living on Ganghwa Island wakes up one day as King Cheoljong and spends the rest of the film suffocating under court etiquette while pining for the girl he ran free with on the beach. When illness takes him it is her name he calls, and she arrives too late, resolving to raise their son as an ordinary woodcutter rather than let the palace claim him too.
