School Excursion

A teacher on a remote fishing island wears down reluctant, cash-strapped parents until they let him take their children on a field trip to Seoul, where kids who have never seen a handcart meet washing machines and refrigerators. It is a plainly told, warm-hearted record of Korea's rural-urban gap in 1968, kept entirely at the children's eye level.
