족보(1978) / The Family Pedigree (Jogbo)

A Japanese official sent to make a Korean clan take Japanese names comes to respect the head of the family who refuses, and falls for his daughter while the policy he enforces pulls the household apart. Im Kwon-taek closes on the patriarch signing for everyone but himself, then setting down his reason on the last page of the family register.
