A gifted pitcher from a poor family loses the girl who looked after him since childhood to a rival star hitter, then wrecks his shoulder and quits the game entirely, until a manager who collects discarded players puts him through punishing training and back onto a field. Adapted from a hugely popular Korean comic, it treats the underdog team and the long rivalry over one woman with the same straight face.
