Before any filming happens, NOVA producers Caitlin Saks and Arlo Pérez have to get through survival training, snowmobile certification, and a brutal transport flight just to reach McMurdo Station. This short is less about the science than about what it actually costs, logistically and physically, to do fieldwork at the bottom of the world.
